The Lane Hotel is situated in the exclusive Morningside area of Edinburgh. The area has a lot to offer with an array of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. The Lane Hotel is located close to Edinburgh city centre only taking 25 minutes to walk to the West End.

From the Airport
We are 19 minutes drive from the airport so if you pick up a hire car or jump in a taxi it shouldn’t take you long to get to us.
If you are making your own way to us by car you can take the Edinburgh city bypass and come off at junction 6- Lothianburn, take the 1st exit at the roundabout and continue down the road until you reach Morningside road, take the turn for Nile Grove which will bring you to Canaan Lane.
The 100 bus is very frequent and will take you into Edinburgh City centre. Get off the bus at Shandwick Place and walk to the bottom of Lothian Road, directly across from the Caledonian Hotel you will be able to jump on the 11, 15 or 16 Lothian bus. All of these take you to Morningside Road where you can walk along Canaan Lane to find us on the right hand side.
Your best to get the train to Haymarket or Waverley and then either jump in a taxi or walk to Princes street and get the 11, 15 or 16 Lothian bus, heading south.
From the city centre
From Princes Street take Lothian Road heading south, drive until you reach Morningside Road and then take a right on Newbattle Terrace until you reach Canaan Lane, take another right on Canaan Lane and follow the road around util you reach us on the right hand side.
Parking at The Lane Hotel is limited, we have a small, private car park situated next door. If you require parking this has to be arranged prior to check in.
Edinburgh Castle is a historic site that is hugely popular with tourists. The castle dominates the skyline of the city of Edinburgh, from its famous position on Castle Rock- the scenery will take your breath away. Edinburgh Castle is the perfect day out and is only 25 minutes walk from The Lane Hotel. Once up at Edinburgh Castle you can enjoy lots of different sites and attractions such as the High Street, whisky tastings plus you are not too far away from Scotland's National Museum.
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is a favourite amongst tourists from all different countries and with an annual television audience of 100 million it's a pretty prestigious event to attend. The Tattoo takes place during the Edinburgh Festival which makes Edinburgh a pretty busy city during the summer months. The Edinburgh Tattoo is located up Castlehill on the Castle Esplanade. There you can take a seat in the historic arms of the Castle and enjoy one of the greatest shows on earth.
